{"id":345066,"date":"2019-10-08T07:51:14","date_gmt":"2019-10-08T05:51:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=345066"},"modified":"2019-10-08T07:51:14","modified_gmt":"2019-10-08T05:51:14","slug":"altron-wins-microsoft-licensing-solution-provider-contract","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/cloud-hosting\/345066\/altron-wins-microsoft-licensing-solution-provider-contract\/","title":{"rendered":"Altron wins Microsoft licensing solution provider contract"},"content":{"rendered":"<header>Microsoft has named JSE-listed technology company Altron as a Licensing Solution Provider (LSP) in South Africa.<\/header>\n<div id=\"modal-ready\">\n<p class=\"m-1638739751536720902msonospacing\">\u00a0This agreement comes after Microsoft decided to cancel its reseller contract with EOH because of alleged corrupt practices within the firm, particularly relating to the securing of contracts<\/p>\n<p class=\"m-1638739751536720902msonospacing\">Altron is positioning its recently acquired subsidiary, Altron Karabina, to be the go-to partner for everything Microsoft, said Altron Group chief executive Mteto Nyati.<\/p>\n<p class=\"m-1638739751536720902msonospacing\">\u00a0\u201cThis LSP contract will position Altron Karabina as partners to customers that embark on digital transformation. Customers invest in technology to increase sales; improve operational efficiencies; transform customer and employee experience; and drive innovation. Altron Karabina will help them extract business value quicker.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"m-1638739751536720902msonospacing\">\u00a0Being appointed as an LSP also ushers in an exciting time for Altron Karabina, said Grant van der Wal, Altron Karabina MD. \u201cThe LSP licence allows us to launch our software services division, adding to our Microsoft competencies in data and analytics, artificial intelligence, customer relationship management, ERP, modern workplace, Azure, and DevOps.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"m-1638739751536720902msonospacing\">The software services division includes LSP, direct CSP and software asset management services and is launched at a time when there is a significant shift to cloud-based services, as seen following the recent opening of the Microsoft data centers, Altron said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"m-1638739751536720902msonospacing\">\u201cWe will offer consumption billing to our customers as they unlock the strategic value delivered through the cloud.
