{"id":347822,"date":"2019-10-22T08:59:36","date_gmt":"2019-10-22T06:59:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=347822"},"modified":"2019-10-22T08:59:36","modified_gmt":"2019-10-22T06:59:36","slug":"these-are-the-best-and-worst-mobile-networks-in-south-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/telecommunications\/347822\/these-are-the-best-and-worst-mobile-networks-in-south-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"These are the best and worst mobile networks in South Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MyBroadband Insights has released its Q3 2019 mobile network quality report, showing the\u00a0best mobile network in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>The report is based on 314,751 speed tests which were performed by thousands of MyBroadband Android speed test app users across South Africa between 1 July and 30 September 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The research shows that South Africa had an average mobile download speed of 24.68 Mbps and an average upload speed of 9.03Mbps.<\/p>\n<p>The results show that MTN had the highest average download speed at 35.31Mbps, followed by Vodacom on 31.19Mbps, Telkom on 22.42Mbps, Cell C on 17.18Mbps and Rain on 16.71Mbps.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best mobile network\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To determine the best mobile network in South Africa, a &#8216;network quality score&#8217;
