{"id":350409,"date":"2019-10-31T09:43:34","date_gmt":"2019-10-31T07:43:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=350409"},"modified":"2019-10-31T09:46:19","modified_gmt":"2019-10-31T07:46:19","slug":"discovery-is-phasing-out-vitality-reward-points-heres-how-the-new-system-will-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/lifestyle\/350409\/discovery-is-phasing-out-vitality-reward-points-heres-how-the-new-system-will-work\/","title":{"rendered":"Discovery is phasing out Vitality reward points &#8211; here&#8217;s how the new system will work"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Discovery has <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.discovery.co.za\/vitality\/vitality-active-rewards-2020?sap-outbound-id=806FF5F11AD74A05EEFC19EAA5244D092C0B8FDE&amp;utm_source=SAPHybris&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=821&amp;utm_term=VITA_YE_30102019_YS___Earn%20instant%20Discovery%20Miles&amp;utm_content=EN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">announced<\/a><\/strong> that it will be phasing out its Vitality reward points scheme from January 2020.<\/p>\n<p>In its place, the company plans to offer a new currency &#8211; Discovery Miles &#8211; which will act as a single rewards system across its banking and healthcare offerings.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If you have any Vitality reward points leftover on 1 January 2020, we\u2019ll replace them at an exchange rate of 1 Vitality reward point = 6 Discovery Miles, no matter when their expiry date is,&#8221; it said.<\/p>\n<p>It added that all Discovery Miles earned will valid for five years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Discovery Miles<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Similar to programmes such as eBucks, Discovery Miles is a rewards currency that members can earn for getting healthy, driving well and spending responsibly.<\/p>\n<p>Discovery said that users can earn points by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Getting up to 75% back in Discovery Miles when you shop at Pick n Pay and Woolworths and up to 50% back in Discovery Miles at Clicks, Dis-Chem, Sportsmans Warehouse and Totalsports.
