Contact Info<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t make recruiters dig through your cover letter to find your name and contact info \u2014 include it up top so they can easily reach out.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Greeting<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Forget \u201cTo Whom It May Concern\u201d. If you can find it, address the recruiter\/hiring manager by name.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Intro Paragraph<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Relevant anecdotes, quotes, fun facts, etc. are all good ways to make your opening line stand out;<\/li>\n<li>Make it clear that you know who the company is, what they do and what they care about;<\/li>\n<li>Mention a few roles, projects, experiences, traits or passions that make you the ideal candidate;<\/li>\n<li>If someone at the company has referred you, this is the place to name drop them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>4. Body Paragraph(s)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Incorporate keywords directly from the job description;<\/li>\n<li>Whenever possible, include concrete metrics that illustrate the results you\u2019ve achieved.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>5. Closing Paragraph:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Summarize, don\u2019t plagiarize. Reaffirm your interest, passion and qualifications from earlier in the letter, but don\u2019t make it sound redundant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>6. Additional<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cover letters should be clean and easy to read \u2014 save the intricate designs and crazy fonts for party invitations;<\/li>\n<li>Like a resume, keep the cover letter to one page.
