{"id":3539,"date":"2012-01-20T12:03:59","date_gmt":"2012-01-20T12:03:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=3539"},"modified":"2012-01-20T12:06:16","modified_gmt":"2012-01-20T12:06:16","slug":"financial-services-smes-not-online-survey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/internet\/3539\/financial-services-smes-not-online-survey\/","title":{"rendered":"Financial service SMEs not online &#8211; survey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Less than half (44%) of South African small, medium and micro enterprises (SMEs) operating in the financial services sector have any kind of online presence, according to new data.<\/p>\n<p>Research compiled by <a title=\"Company Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/307751-World-Wide-Worx\" target=\"_blank\">World Wide Worx<\/a>, and conducted among 1,007 SME decision makers, found that the majority of respondents operating in the IT and telecoms sectors have websites (89%).<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, a high number (76%) of those in the tourism and transportation sector also have an online presence.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a title=\"Person Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/221541-Arthur-Goldstuck\" target=\"_blank\">Arthur Goldstuck<\/a>, MD of World Wide Worx, 20% of respondents said they wouldn\u2019t be in business without a website.
