{"id":356115,"date":"2019-11-23T18:30:51","date_gmt":"2019-11-23T16:30:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=356115"},"modified":"2019-11-22T14:49:56","modified_gmt":"2019-11-22T12:49:56","slug":"heres-when-takealots-black-friday-2019-deals-will-go-live","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/technology\/356115\/heres-when-takealots-black-friday-2019-deals-will-go-live\/","title":{"rendered":"Here&#8217;s when Takealot&#8217;s Black Friday 2019 deals will go live"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Takealot has published a guide outlining when its 2019 Black Friday deals will go live.<\/p>\n<p>As in previous years, the group said that it will be hosting a Blue Dot sale running over the entire weekend.<\/p>\n<p>However, for the first time it will be giving shoppers exclusive early access to some of its Black Friday deals starting on the <strong>24 November<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The group said that these early-access deals will be heavily discounted and will\u00a0<strong>not see further price cuts<\/strong>\u00a0when the actual Black Friday sale starts.<\/p>\n<p>It added that new deals will be posted at the following times over the Black Friday\/Cyber Monday weekend:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>00h01 on Friday (29 November) &#8211; All deals unlocked<\/li>\n<li>06h00 on Saturday (30 November) &#8211; More deals added<\/li>\n<li>06h00 on Sunday (1 December) &#8211; More deals added<\/li>\n<li>06h00 on Monday (2 December) &#8211; Cyber Monday tech deals<\/li>\n<li>06h00 on Tuesday (3 December) &#8211; Takealot Tuesday deals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The group also announced that it would be extending the trading hours at pick-up points around the country as follows:<\/p>\n<p><a  data-lightbox=\"post-image\" href=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Takealot-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-356121 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Takealot-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1151\" height=\"191\" srcset=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Takealot-2.png 1151w, https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Takealot-2-300x50.png 300w, https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Takealot-2-1024x170.png 1024w, https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Takealot-2-768x127.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1151px) 100vw, 1151px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Takealot chief executive officer Kim Reid said that this year he is anticipating the biggest Black Friday yet, a culmination of months of tech and operational business-wide focus to prepare for increased predicted traffic and shopper volumes.<\/p>\n<p>Takealot\u2019s Black Friday gross merchandise value (GMV) grew 125% from 2017 to 2018, with orders up 127%. Superbalist\u2019s Black Friday GMV has grown on average around 50%.<\/p>\n<p>Reid said throughout the year they have been working to scale operations across multiple areas within the business.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter expanding our Johannesburg distribution centre (DC), our warehouse storage space now stands at 75,000m square.
