{"id":356257,"date":"2019-11-22T08:40:31","date_gmt":"2019-11-22T06:40:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=356257"},"modified":"2019-11-22T08:40:31","modified_gmt":"2019-11-22T06:40:31","slug":"teslas-new-cybertruck-has-arrived","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/motoring\/356257\/teslas-new-cybertruck-has-arrived\/","title":{"rendered":"Tesla&#8217;s new Cybertruck has arrived"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Elon Musk has unveiled Tesla&#8217;s new Cybertruck &#8211; an electric pickup truck which will retail from $39,900 (R588,332).<\/p>\n<p>While the launch event was <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/motoring\/356231\/tesla-cyber-truck-demo-goes-wrong-as-shatterproof-windows-break\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">marred<\/a><\/strong> as the vehicle&#8217;s shatterproof windows broke, critics were ultimately impressed by the Cybertruck&#8217;s specifications.<\/p>\n<p>Musk said that the Cybetruck&#8217;s powerful drivetrain and low-centre-of gravity provides extraordinary traction control and torque &#8211; enabling acceleration from 0-60 mph in as little as 2.9 seconds and up to 500 miles of range.<\/p>\n<p>Other features include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Exoskeleton<\/strong> &#8211; A smooth monochrome exoskeleton that puts the shell on the outside of the car and provides you and your passengers maximum protection;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tesla<\/strong> <strong>armour<\/strong> <strong>glass<\/strong> &#8211; Ultra-strong glass and polymer-layered composite can absorb and redirect impact force for improved performance and damage tolerance;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Utility<\/strong> &#8211; Up to 3,500 pounds of payload capacity and adjustable air suspension, and engineered with 100 cubic feet of exterior, lockable storage;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Towing<\/strong> &#8211; Tesla said that the Cybbertruck has the ability to pull &#8216;near infinite mass&#8217; and a towing capability of over 14,000 pounds;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Adaptive<\/strong> <strong>air<\/strong> <strong>suspension<\/strong> &#8211; Raise and lower suspension four inches in either direction for easy access to Cybertruck or the vault, while self-levelling capabilities adapt to any occasion and assist with every job;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Interior<\/strong> &#8211; Seat six comfortably with additional storage under the second-row seats. Complete with an advanced 17\u201d touchscreen with an all-new customized user interface.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a  data-lightbox=\"post-image\"
