A number of local retailers have announced that they will hold early sales ahead of Black Friday, which falls on 29 November.<\/p>\n

With the shopping day falling later than usual this year, FNB says that more stores are likely to spread their deals out over a number of days to capitalise on the phenomenon and to ensure that their systems can handle the higher than usual load.<\/p>\n

A recent report by PwC found that consumers plan to spend 36% more this year versus 2018, with local shoppers planning to spend an average of R3,812 during Black Friday\/Cyber Monday 2019.<\/p>\n

It added that some 85% of South Africans surveyed confirmed that they intend to buy something or will consider it if there is a good enough deal.<\/p>\n

The most popular product categories during Black Friday\/Cyber Monday 2019 will be durables like electrical equipment, technology goods, homewares, clothing, shoes and accessories, it said.<\/p>\n

Makro said that it will run its deals over five days \u2013 from 27 November to 1 December \u2013 dubbed \u2018Black 5 Day\u2019.<\/p>\n

Pick n Pay launched its weekly Black November<\/a><\/strong> deals for its Gauteng and Western Cape online shopper at the start of the month, with the retailer reporting a record number of visitors to its website.<\/p>\n

The \u2018Black November\u2019 deals go live on Pick n Pay\u2019s online shop every Monday at 07h00 and will be valid for seven days or until stocks last, the retailer said.<\/p>\n

STA Travel\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

STA Travel said it will launch a number of epic Black Friday travel specials before the official big day on 29 November.<\/p>\n

Superbalist said that it will offer Black Friday sales sooner for shoppers this year, with early access to guaranteed deals on selected days in November, with discounts that will not be beaten on Black Friday.<\/p>\n

In the build-up to its Blue Dot Sale, which will run from 29 November to 3 December, Takealot is holding an Early Access Sale.<\/p>\n

The Early Access Blue Dot Sale runs from 24-28 November and features deals in a number of categories.<\/p>\n

Takealot said it will also provide early access to Black Friday prices, and these prices will not be beaten over the Black Friday period.<\/p>\n

Woolworths<\/strong><\/p>\n

Woolworths has launched its early\u00a0Black Friday<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>2019 deals through its online store.<\/p>\n

The retailer has promised a number of deals on both men and women\u2019s fashion items as well as selected kitchen and dining products.<\/p>\n

The store is also offering free delivery to all customers who make their first online order.<\/p>\n

The sale will officially be available in-store from Friday (22 November) and Woolworths said that that additional deals will unlock daily in-store, online and through its app.<\/p>\n
