{"id":363244,"date":"2019-12-30T07:50:51","date_gmt":"2019-12-30T05:50:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=363244"},"modified":"2019-12-30T07:51:07","modified_gmt":"2019-12-30T05:51:07","slug":"these-are-the-top-jobs-for-next-decade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/it-services\/363244\/these-are-the-top-jobs-for-next-decade\/","title":{"rendered":"These are the top jobs for the next decade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The next decade could see growing demand for behavioral scientists, data analysts, upcycled clothing designers and even digital detox consultants.<\/p>\n<p>Brexit, climate change, an economic slowdown and technology are among the factors that could have the greatest impact on jobs in the 2020s, according to the UK\u2019s Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce.<\/p>\n<p>It looked at four possible workplace scenarios:<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>The Big Tech Economy<\/strong> &#8211; \u201ca new machine age\u201d where technology develops at a rapid pace, from self-driving cars to 3D printing, bringing cheaper goods but rising unemployment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jobs<\/strong>: software developers, digital transformation consultants, technology public relations<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>The Precision Economy<\/strong> &#8211; \u201ca future of hyper-surveillance\u201d where technological progress is moderate, but a proliferation of sensors allows firms to create value by capturing and analyzing more information on objects, people and the environment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jobs<\/strong>: behavioral scientists, data analysts, online reputation managers<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>The Exodus Economy<\/strong> &#8211; where a crash on the scale of 2008 dries up funding for innovation and keeps the U.K. in a low-skilled, low-productivity and low-paid rut, and workers lose faith in capitalism.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jobs<\/strong>: food cooperative workers, upcycled clothing designers, community energy managers<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>The Empathy Economy<\/strong> &#8211; \u201ca future of responsible stewardship\u201d in which technology advances at a clip, but so too does public awareness of its dangers, automation is carefully managed in partnership with workers and unions, and disposable income flows into sectors such as education, care and entertainment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jobs<\/strong>: digital detox planners, personal public relations advisers<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Over the past 10 years, government austerity, the rise of e-commerce and an aging society have contributed to changes in employment, the report said.<\/p>\n<p>Computer programmers, finance directors and van drivers are among the professions that saw the biggest growth.
