Pule\u2019s romance and lies: Sunday Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a title=\"Sunday Times\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/6087-Sunday-Times\">Sunday Times<\/a> newspaper has published fresh evidence about communications minister <a title=\"Dina Pule\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/2128-Dina-Pule\">Dina Pule<\/a>\u2019s travel documents which it says proves that the minister is lying about her relationship with <a title=\"Phosane Mngqibisa\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/4594-Phosane-Mngqibisa\">Phosane Mngqibisa<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Sunday Times, it has seen documents which list Mngqibisa as Pule\u2019s official \u201ccompanion\u201d \u2013 a term describing family, spouses or long term romantic partners.<\/p>\n<p>The newspaper has proof of the following claims that, according to the publication, proves that Pule is not forthcoming about her relationship with Mngqibisa:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pule spent R700,000 of taxpayers\u2019 money on an overseas trip with Phosane Mngqibisa<\/li>\n<li>Pule lived it up in the Ritz-Carlton in New York, at a cost of R35,000 for 2 nights, and another R10,000 for luxury cars<\/li>\n<li>Pule stated in travel documents that Phosane Mngqibisa was her official companion, and that his bill was paid for by Pule in her official capacity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The newspaper previously reported that Mngqibisa accompanied Pule on at least 20 international trips.<\/p>\n<p>The Sunday Times also reported that it is unlikely that Mngqibisa paid his own expenses on these trips, as claimed previously.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday 10 May 2013 a <a title=\"Department of Communications\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/2129-DoC-Department-of-Communications\">Department of Communications<\/a> press statement said that Pule has lodged a formal complaint with the Press Ombudsman in relation to the \u201csmear campaign being waged against her by the Sunday Times\u201d.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">More on Dina Pule
