from as little as 89 cents per minute on per second billing.

The product will be available from this Sunday, 26 May 2013.

Vodacom’s consumer business head, Phil Patel explained that they tested the waters late last year with their 89c calling promotion to 52 countries.

“It proved so popular that we’ve added 3 new zones with additional countries priced at R1.19, R1.79, and R2.89 respectively and made it a permanent product available to all customers,” said Patel.

Some of the popular destinations customers can call at the rate of 89c per minute include Australia, China, France, Nigeria, New Zealand, United Kingdom, and the United States of America.

“In addition, customers can now also call neighbouring countries such as Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, and Swaziland for only R1.79 per minute,” Vodacom said.

Vodacom highlighted that the new International Calling Plus product provides savings of up to 88% over the standard rates.

To qualify for the new prices, however, means that consumers have to pay a R5 per-month subscription service.

In October 2012 Cell C launched an international calling promotion which offers subscribers calls to 50 international destinations at 85c per minute on per second billing.

More on Vodacom

<a
