The Mail & Guardian has released its Top Companies Reputation Index (TCRI), revealing the top brands in the telecoms and banking sectors.<\/p>\n

The study, which was conducted by Plus 94 Research, assesses the “reputations which companies have established with South African consumers”.<\/p>\n

The most reputable businesses in South Africa are rated according to their “reputation index” score (out of 100).<\/p>\n

Banking<\/h3>\n

According to the index, Standard Bank<\/a> not only has the best reputation amongst banks in South Africa, but ranks second overall, behind only Coca Cola<\/a>.<\/p>\n

FNB<\/a> is ranked second in the banking sector, followed by Absa in third and Old Mutual in fourth.<\/p>\n

Nedbank<\/a> marginally beats out Capitec<\/a> bank to make it into the top five.<\/p>\n

FNB placed sixth, overall, while Absa<\/a> placed eighth in the top 10.<\/p>\n

Telecoms<\/h3>\n

According to the research Vodacom<\/a> has the best reputation in the telecoms sector, followed by MTN<\/a>, Telkom SA<\/a>. Cell C<\/a> and 8ta<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Vodacom and MTN was ranked at number 3 and 4 respectively when looking at overall results.<\/p>\n
