This is nearly twice as much as the Gauteng which has second-most provincial cases at 1,624.<\/p>\n<p>The Western Cape government says that the majority of its cases have been reported in the Western suburbs (500 cases), followed by Tygerberg (488 cases) and Khayelitsha (391 cases).<\/p>\n<p>Notably, most cases appear to be concentrated in and around the Cape Town area, with relatively few cases reported in other major municipalities such as Stellenbosch (20 cases).<\/p>\n<p>The below graphic provides more detail on the areas which have been the hardest hit by the coronavirus in the sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1198px) 100vw, 1198px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The most number of cases in Gauteng have been reported in Johannesburg (920), specifically in city region E (260 cases) which includes suburbs such as Alexandra, Wynberg, Sandton and Houghton.<\/p>\n<p>This is followed by city region B (152 reported cases) which includes suburbs such as Randburg, Rosebank, Emarrentia, now\u00a06,783 positive Covid-19 cases in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>This is up by 447 from the 6,336 Covid-19 cases announced on Saturday \u2013 and the highest 24-hour tally to date in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Health minister Dr Zweli Mkhize said in a statement on Sunday evening (3 May), that a further eight people have died from the virus, taking total deaths to 131.<\/p>\n<p>He added that a total of 245,747 people have been tested, with 15,061 people tested in the past 24 hours.
