{"id":3979,"date":"2012-01-23T10:06:49","date_gmt":"2012-01-23T10:06:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=3979"},"modified":"2012-01-23T10:15:36","modified_gmt":"2012-01-23T10:15:36","slug":"jasco-buys-power-and-energy-solutions-group","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/hardware\/3979\/jasco-buys-power-and-energy-solutions-group\/","title":{"rendered":"Jasco buys power and energy solutions group"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Listed technology group <a title=\"Company Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/226925-Jasco\" target=\"_blank\">Jasco Electronics<\/a> (JSC) advised on Monday that it has entered into an agreement to acquire 100% of the ordinary shares in <a title=\"Company Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/398309-FerroTech\" target=\"_blank\">Ferro Resistant Technologies<\/a> from the founding shareholders and senior management, for R13 million.<\/p>\n<p>FerroTech manufactures, supplies, designs, installs and maintains power and energy solutions. Its offering includes voltage stabilisers; uninterrupted power supplies (UPS), automatic voltage regulators, inverters, surge and lightning protection and transformers.<\/p>\n<p>Jasco said that the acquisition is in line with its stated strategy of expanding the group through acquisitions of companies that deliver specific solutions, skill-sets and expertise that complement its existing portfolio.<\/p>\n<p>The FerroTech acquisition broadens the offering of Jasco&#8217;s Industry Solutions vertical &#8211; which currently comprises security; control and monitoring; as well as building management solutions &#8211; by now also adding power optimisation to this vertical, it said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe vertical cross-selling opportunities within Jasco, such as the supply of UPS solutions, together with the additional sales channels to Jasco&#8217;s existing client base will enable Jasco to grow this business.
