{"id":405155,"date":"2020-06-05T09:56:47","date_gmt":"2020-06-05T07:56:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=405155"},"modified":"2020-06-05T15:39:38","modified_gmt":"2020-06-05T13:39:38","slug":"porsche-reveals-south-africa-pricing-for-its-all-electric-taycan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/motoring\/405155\/porsche-reveals-south-africa-pricing-for-its-all-electric-taycan\/","title":{"rendered":"Porsche reveals South African pricing for its all-electric Taycan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Porsche\u2019s first purely electrically driven sports car, the Taycan, has its price tag for the South African market.<\/p>\n<p>Three models will be sold locally, the Taycan 4S, the Taycan Turbo, and the Turbo S.<\/p>\n<p>The flagship Turbo S version of the Taycan can generate up to 560 kW overboost power in combination with Launch Control, and the Taycan Turbo up to 500 kW.<\/p>\n<p>The Taycan 4S has a range of up to\u00a0 301 kilometres, the Taycan Turbo (346 km), and the Taycan Turbo S up to 327 kilometres.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You are instantly greeted by the familiar Porsche feeling \u2013 coupled with the latest technologies,&#8221; the German carmaker has assured its clients.<\/p>\n<p>The Porsche Advanced Cockpit boasts a fully digital 16.8-inch curved display, integrated 8.4-inch centre console control panel and 10.9-inch central display.<\/p>\n<p>The entry level <strong>Taycan 4S<\/strong> starts at <strong>R2,586,000 <\/strong>which buys the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Up to 320kW (435PS)<\/li>\n<li>Up to 390kW (530PS)<\/li>\n<li>Overboost Power with Launch Control<\/li>\n<li>640Nm maximum torque with Launch Control<\/li>\n<li>0 to 100km\/h in 4.0 seconds with Launch Control<\/li>\n<li>Top speed of 250km\/h<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <strong>Taycan Turbo<\/strong> is priced from <strong>R3,426,000<\/strong>, which buys the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Up to 460kW (625PS)<\/li>\n<li>Up to 500kW (680PS)<\/li>\n<li>Overboost Power with Launch Control<\/li>\n<li>850Nm maximum torque with Launch Control<\/li>\n<li>0 to 100km\/h in 3.2 seconds with Launch Control<\/li>\n<li>Top speed of 260km\/h<\/li>\n<li>Performance Battery Plus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <strong>Taycan Turbo S<\/strong> is priced from <strong>R4,027,000<\/strong>, which buys the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Up to 460kW (625PS)<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Up to 560kW (761PS)<\/li>\n<li>Overboost Power with Launch Control<\/li>\n<li>1,050Nm maximum torque with Launch Control<\/li>\n<li>0 to 100km\/h in 2.8 seconds with Launch Control<\/li>\n<li>Top speed of 260km\/h<\/li>\n<li>Performance Battery Plus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A custom paint job can add R58,000 to the total, with personalised leather interior costing more than R50,000. 21-inch Taycan exclusive design wheels with Aeroblades Carbon, will add nearly R100,000 to the price.
