{"id":40567,"date":"2013-06-25T07:11:12","date_gmt":"2013-06-25T05:11:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=40567"},"modified":"2013-06-25T09:37:59","modified_gmt":"2013-06-25T07:37:59","slug":"nashua-mobiles-bold-retail-ambition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/telecommunications\/40567\/nashua-mobiles-bold-retail-ambition\/","title":{"rendered":"Nashua Mobile&#8217;s bold retail ambition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Nashua Mobile\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/2281-Nashua-Mobile\">Nashua Mobile<\/a> CEO <a title=\"Mark Taylor\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/2811-Mark-Taylor\">Mark Taylor<\/a> says that close on 80% of the group&#8217;s sales come through its deal matching offer it launched in January.<\/p>\n<p>The group\u2019s \u2018Network Price Promise\u2019 guarantees to match any offer on any on South Africa\u2019s three largest Networks (<a title=\"Cell C\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/1641-Cell-C\">Cell C<\/a>, <a title=\"MTN\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/1640-MTN-Group\">MTN<\/a> and <a title=\"Vodacom\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/1639-Vodacom\">Vodacom<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Under terms of the deal, Nashua Mobile, a wholly-owned subsidiary of JSE-listed <a title=\"Reunert\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/2462-Reunert\">Reunert<\/a>, matches any commercially viable offer on a postpaid contract option available from any retail competitor on a deal made up of the same device, on the same network and on the same tariff plan.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with BusinessTech, Taylor said: \u201cWe have aggressive plans to roll out much more retail distribution. Just in the last year, our retail sales are up 40% year on year. That\u2019s been our focus, to get the stores and the service right.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We\u2019ve gone bold, ultra-modern look and feel to our stores. It\u2019s paying dividends,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have 150 (retail stores) at the moment, we approved another five last week. We will probably be in another 50 malls in the next two years, and then we are also looking at partners in the retail space,&#8221; the chief executive said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We only have one thing at Nashua Mobile: service. We don\u2019t build handsets, we don\u2019t have networks. It\u2019s about service here,&#8221; Taylor said.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the group&#8217;s partnership with Glomail didn\u2019t work as well as he had hoped, as it is not seen as a traditional space for mobile services.<\/p>\n<p>However, for its Network Price Promise deal, Taylor highlighted the group&#8217;s traction. &#8220;We will match any deal in the market\u2026.we\u2019ve had that running for six months.
