{"id":41574,"date":"2013-07-09T15:32:12","date_gmt":"2013-07-09T13:32:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=41574"},"modified":"2013-07-10T08:52:35","modified_gmt":"2013-07-10T06:52:35","slug":"dina-pule-sacked","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/government\/41574\/dina-pule-sacked\/","title":{"rendered":"Dina Pule sacked"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President <a title=\"Jacob Zuma\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/2611-Jacob-Zuma\">Jacob Zuma<\/a> has sacked Communications\u00a0Minister <a title=\"Dina Pule\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/2128-Dina-Pule\">Dina Pule<\/a> as part of a cabinet reshuffle.<\/p>\n<p>Making an announcement relating to governance at a special media briefing at the Union Buildings this afternoon, Zuma announced that Dina Pule would be dropped, and <a title=\"Yunus Carrim\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/9229-Yunus-Carrim\">Yunus Carrim<\/a> would be taking her place.<\/p>\n<p>Yunus Carrim was the former South African Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs.<\/p>\n<p>He holds a BA(Hons) and M.A. in Sociology from the University of Warwick (England) and an International Diploma in Journalism from Darlington College of Technology (England).<\/p>\n<p>Pule has been\u00a0<a title=\"Dina Pule\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/tag\/dina-pule\">embroiled in a number of scandals<\/a>\u00a0over the last year, including accusations of cronyism and maladministration.<\/p>\n<p>Pule was appointed to her position in October 2011, having served as\u00a0Deputy Minister of the Presidency for Performance Monitoring and Evaluation between 2010 and 2011. On release from 1976 detention, receive United Nations scholarship to Study in England. Executive Committee member of Natal Indian Congress and Council member of United Democratic Front (Pietermaritzburg) from the mid-eighties. Secretary of Pietermaritzburg Combined Ratepayers and Residents Association (1986-90).
