FNB<\/a> has announced that its online banking website has been extensively upgraded to cater for all mobile channels, from PCs to multiple smart devices.<\/p>\n

In what the bank claims is a first of its kind on the African continent, the\u00a0new website will be available to the public on Sunday 14 July 2013.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring the past two years, we have reviewed banking sites across the world to benchmark ourselves. We currently have over 1.5 million online banking customers and expect this to increase with the new and enhanced platform,\u201d said Lee-Anne van Zyl<\/a>, FNB Online Banking CEO.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have created the first truly scalable banking site on the continent, which is not stripped-down for devices with smaller screens or simply compressed to fit. The site automatically detects and adapts to the device being used,\u201d said van Zyl.<\/p>\n

FNB says its online service currently dominates with a market share of 35%.<\/p>\n

The bank announced last month that its banking app for smartphones has gained 500,000 active clients in less than two years, since its launch in July 2011.<\/p>\n

New enhancements to the site include an improved user experience, being touch screen friendly, easy buttons and menus, responsive design enabling scalability to multiple devices with layered, seamless security.<\/p>\n

The site was developed entirely by FNB Online developers working at the bank\u2019s office complex in Fairlands north of Johannesburg.<\/p>\n

During the coming months, FNB says it will add additional levels of functionality to the site and will be further enhancing the customer experience.<\/p>\n
