SA music retailer\u00a0Look & Listen<\/a>\u00a0is set to re-launch its digital music store in the fourth quarter, five months after it halted online purchases on the platform.<\/p>\n

The new service will target mobile, and will only be available as a digital download service, says Mondia Media GM Karen Liebenberg<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mondia Media<\/a>, a technology solution provider and music content aggregator, has partnered with Look & Listen to re-launch its service.<\/p>\n

Look & Listen’s in-store merchandise will not be available through this new online platform, Liebenberg said.<\/p>\n

In February, the music retailer, which has 28 brick and mortar outlets across the country, said it would no longer offer the option to purchase online.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis applies to both physical goods as well as digital downloads,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n

Liebenberg says that the company is still in discussions with various labels, with pricing likely to be announced in August.<\/p>\n

Mondia is also in talks with various companies, including FNB<\/a> and Discovery who provide loyalty services including Voyager Miles and eBucks<\/a> as a means to purchasing music online at Look & Listen.<\/p>\n

Howard Lazarus<\/a>, chairman of Look & Listen said: \u201cLook & Listen is proud to announce it is working with Mondia Media in a joint venture to bring a new digital music solution to South Africa.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe solution is based on Mondia\u2019s innovative approach and international support network that will allow South Africans to legally download high quality MP3\u2019s as well as full albums directly to their mobile phones.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mondia Media says it has engaged with over 700 artists, aggregators and labels, \u201cbuilding one of the largest catalogues of high quality digital music products in Africa\u201d.<\/p>\n
