Subscribers at the edge of the cell might suddenly find themselves unable to connect.

This is where the hand-over between Cell C and Vodacom needs to be seamless, Knott-Craig said, otherwise customers will have a poor experience.

He said that they have tried to resolve the matter with Vodacom, with no luck. Cell C will therefore be lodging a complaint with ICASA, Knott-Craig said.

Knott-Craig explained that their roaming agreement with Vodacom is still valid for a few more years and that terminating it isn’t an option as they would need to “block up holes” in their network before they switch off Vodacom roaming in an area.

Vodacom was not immediately able to comment by the time of publication, but has promised to provide feedback soon.

More on Cell C

Cell C talking to MVNO players: report

Telkom dismisses Cell C merger talks

Cell C reveals mobile app plans

Red Bull Mobile subscriber numbers

Cell C network quality complaints

Cell C’s network woes are caused mainly by Vodacom not holding up their end of an agreement, according to Alan Knott-Craig

[5554
25,43,42,36,6305,27
post-42066","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-media","tag-active","tag-alan-knott-craig","tag-cell-c","tag-icasa","tag-network-problems","tag-vodacom
["GET
