{"id":42131,"date":"2013-07-17T10:10:52","date_gmt":"2013-07-17T08:10:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=42131"},"modified":"2013-07-17T10:12:35","modified_gmt":"2013-07-17T08:12:35","slug":"new-icasa-cost-to-communicate-timelines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/government\/42131\/new-icasa-cost-to-communicate-timelines\/","title":{"rendered":"New Icasa Cost to Communicate timelines"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (Icasa) has issued revised timelines for the submission of information related to its Cost to Communicate Programme.<\/p>\n<p>Icasa\u2019s Cost to Communicate Programme is currently underway; it outlines all the projects that Icasa is currently undertaking to address concerns about the high cost of communication in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Many stakeholders have requested timeline extensions for submissions, in particular the Broadband Value Chain Study and Call Termination Market Review.<\/p>\n<p>Icasa has now issued an extension on its deadlines:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Broadband Value Chain Study \u2013 29 July 2013<\/li>\n<li>Call Termination Market Review \u2013 02 August 2013<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cAt this stage, the Authority foresees no change in the deliverable timelines of these projects as presented on 07 June 2013,\u201d Icasa said in a press statement.<\/p>\n<p>Icasa indicated that it would publish draft Local Loop Unbundling Regulations on the 16th of July 2013.
