{"id":422868,"date":"2020-08-05T08:31:38","date_gmt":"2020-08-05T06:31:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=422868"},"modified":"2020-08-05T08:31:38","modified_gmt":"2020-08-05T06:31:38","slug":"new-volkswagen-t-roc-south-africa-pricing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/motoring\/422868\/new-volkswagen-t-roc-south-africa-pricing\/","title":{"rendered":"New Volkswagen T-Roc &#8211; South Africa pricing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Volkswagen has published pricing and specifications for its T-Roc SUV which is set to go on sale in South Africa in November.<\/p>\n<p>This is the fifth model which Volkswagen has added to its SUV range in South Africa, joining the T-Cross, Tiguan, Tiguan Allspace and the Touareg.<\/p>\n<p>Customers have a choice of the 1.4 TSI 8-speed Tiptronic engine with a power output of 110kW at 5,000 \u2013 6,000rpm, and torque of 250Nm.<\/p>\n<p>The entry-level engine reaches 0 \u2013 100km\/h in 8.4 seconds, has a fuel consumption of 6.9l\/100km and a top speed of 205km, VW said.<\/p>\n<p>The 2.0 TSI engine with 7-speed DSG and 4Motion has a power output of 140kW, and torque of 320Nm.<\/p>\n<p>The fuel consumption on this engine is 8.3l\/100km, Volkswagen said.<\/p>\n<p><a  data-lightbox=\"post-image\" href=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/T-Roc3-e1592404658541.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-408427 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/T-Roc3-e1592404658541.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a  data-lightbox=\"post-image\" href=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/T-Roc4-e1592404675252.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-408429 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/T-Roc4-e1592404675252.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Design<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Volkswagen said that the T-Roc is its first SUV that will be available to order in two-tone paintwork with visually contrasting roof section.<\/p>\n<p>On the Design derivatives, customers have a choice of pure white, red and black on the roof and exterior mirror housings, the carmaker said.<\/p>\n<p>The T-Roc is based on the modular transverse matrix (MQB) meaning that the T-Roc offers a Golf-like level of ride comfort; it is 80 millimetres longer than the T-Cross, and 162 millimetres shorter than the Tiguan.<\/p>\n<p>When all five seats are occupied, luggage space is 445 litres. The Composition radio has an 8-inch colour touch screen with two USB ports easily located in the centre console of the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>Passive safety features include electronic stability control, park distance control, LED headlights, light and vision package, blind spot monitor and fatigue detection.<\/p>\n<p>The I.Q Drive technologies included in the T-Roc are park assist, emergency assist, front assist, traffic jam assist, adaptive cruise control and lane assist.<\/p>\n<p>Optional features on all derivatives includes; the panoramic sunroof, electronic trailer hitch, smoker\u2019s package, Discover Pro navigation system with a 9.2-inch screen, the Beats sound system and the park package.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pricing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Volkswagen said that the recommended retail price for the new T-Roc is as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>T-Roc 1.4 TSI 110kW Tiptronic Design &#8211; <strong>R489,400<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>T-Roc 2.0 TSI 140kW 4Motion Design &#8211; <strong>R548,300<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>T-Roc 2.0 TSI 140kW 4Motion DSG R-Line &#8211; <strong>R593,600<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Volkswagen said that\u00a0 T-Roc comes standard with a 3 year\/120,000 km warranty, 5 year\/ 90,000 km Volkswagen Service Plan and a 12-year anti-corrosion warranty.
