{"id":425186,"date":"2020-08-13T15:23:07","date_gmt":"2020-08-13T13:23:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=425186"},"modified":"2020-08-13T15:26:07","modified_gmt":"2020-08-13T13:26:07","slug":"ford-ranger-thunder-launched-in-south-africa-pricing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/motoring\/425186\/ford-ranger-thunder-launched-in-south-africa-pricing\/","title":{"rendered":"Ford Ranger Thunder launched in South Africa &#8211; pricing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ford has launched its new limited-edition Ranger Thunder, promising a wider range of features and options over the standard Ranger model.<\/p>\n<p>As with the Wildtrak and Ranger Raptor, the Thunder is powered by the 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo engine &#8211; producing 157kW and 500Nm, and is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.<\/p>\n<p>Ford has also introduced a number of physical changes with the Ranger Thunder&#8217;s design. These include a revised honeycomb-style front grille, black detailing, and 18-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from the visual enhancements, the Ranger Thunder includes a number of practical additions including a lockable &#8216;Mountain Top&#8217; black roller shutter to safely secure goods being carried.<\/p>\n<p>Ford said that the Ranger Thunder will also include a cargo area management system with a bed divider that allows the owner to easily compartmentalise the available space for securely holding different-sized items.<\/p>\n<p><a  data-lightbox=\"post-image\" href=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/ford-ranger-thunder-e1597324410259.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-425194 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/ford-ranger-thunder-e1597324410259.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"801\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a  data-lightbox=\"post-image\" href=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/ford-ranger-thunder-1-e1597324481106.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-425202 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/ford-ranger-thunder-1-e1597324481106.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"801\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a  data-lightbox=\"post-image\" href=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/ford-ranger-thunder-2-e1597324496513.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-425204 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/ford-ranger-thunder-2-e1597324496513.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"801\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Safety<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Ranger Thunder has\u00a0 Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) which uses a combination of radar and camera systems along with new software to detect pedestrians, as well as stationary and moving objects.<\/p>\n<p>Additional features available on the Ranger Thunder include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Forward Collision Alert.
