Afrihost<\/a> is looking to bring the \u201cbest mobile connectivity in South Africa\u201d to its clients, complementing its existing ADSL products, according to Afrihost CEO, Gian Visser<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Visser said that many of the ISP’s clients have been asking about mobile data, and with the growth of mobile data it is a request which Afrihost cannot ignore.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the last 5 years the growth of mobile broadband has far outstripped ADSL, and there is no question that mobile is the future,\u201d said Visser.<\/p>\n

Visser said that consumers can expect the same of Afrihost in the mobile market as in the hosting and ADSL arena – value and service that surprises and delights.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing the top rated ADSL ISP we believe we can bring a flavour of service that will stand out and enable us to compete well in the existing mobile data market,\u201d said Visser.<\/p>\n

Afrihost is still investigating the best route to enter the mobile market. \u201cAt the moment our focus is going to be on providing mobile data services to our clients,\u201d said Visser.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe hope to provide connectivity via SIM cards that can be used in mobile devices such as phones, tablets and MiFi type hotspots.\u201d<\/p>\n

Afrihost has also not decided on an operator to partner with yet. Visser said that, over the last two and a half years, they have spoken to all the mobile operators regarding offering mobile data services.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a difficult market to penetrate as all of the mobile providers have a consumer strategy so the reseller offerings have not been good,\u201d said Visser.<\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, we are determined to offer good value mobile data products to our clients and I believe we will.\u201d<\/p>\n
