MTN<\/a> has advised that group chief financial officer and executive\u00a0financial director, Nazir Patel<\/a> has resigned amid controversy which includes an internal investigation.<\/p>\n

“Patel explained to the company that he does not wish his continued\u00a0employment with the company to prejudice the company in respect of certain allegations made\u00a0against him, which are subject to an ongoing investigation which had been commissioned by the company,” MTN said in a statement.<\/p>\n

Brett Goschen<\/a> has been appointed as Group CFO and executive financial\u00a0director on the Board, with immediate effect.<\/p>\n

Goschen joined MTN as CFO\u00a0of MTN Nigeria in 2002. He was appointed CEO of MTN Ghana in 2006 and\u00a0returned to MTN Nigeria as CEO in 2011.<\/p>\n

“The Board is confident that Mr Goschen has the appropriate expertise and experience for his new\u00a0role,” MTN said.<\/p>\n
