Pro and Shomax Pro Mobile prices for South Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Showmax has sent a notice to subscribers in South Africa informing them that Showmax Pro is launching in the country today, Wednesday 19 August 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Showmax Pro offers subscribers additional content alongside the traditional Showmax entertainment service, including music channels, news, and live sport streaming.<\/p>\n<p>It is positioned as an alternative to Netflix, with the benefit of including live sports streaming which is not available on competing services.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe launch of Showmax Pro means we\u2019ve made some updates to our Terms and Conditions, which can be found on showmax.com,\u201d the notice stated.<\/p>\n<p>According to the new terms, Showmax Pro includes selected sports, news, and entertainment content.<\/p>\n<p>It is available on various devices, offering two simultaneous viewing streams with a resolution of up to 720p, and allows for five registered devices.<\/p>\n<p>Showmax Pro Mobile also offers selected sports, news, and entertainment, but is available only on smartphones and tablets, grants only one viewing stream and a single registered device.<\/p>\n<p>The mobile package also limits streaming resolution to standard definition.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Live sport streaming<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/faq.showmax.com\/eng\/help\/za\/introduction\/2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FAQ document<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0on the Showmax website, Showmax Pro will offer the following sports:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Football:<\/strong>\u00a0English Premier League, LaLiga, Serie A, FA Cup, UEFA Champions and Europa Leagues (SA only), and Premier Soccer League.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Athletics<\/strong>: Diamond League, and World Challenge League.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Running:<\/strong>\u00a0Berlin, Boston, London, NYC, and Soweto Marathons.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Boxing:<\/strong>\u00a0Selected IBF, WBA, WBO, WBC and African Boxing events.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Other (SA only):<\/strong>\u00a0Swimming, extreme sports, eSports, basketball, triathlon, horse racing, EFC, netball, and hockey.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Motorsport, tennis, and cycling will not be available in South Africa at launch.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis list is subject to change based on rights limitations from sporting bodies and events availability may vary from country to country,\u201d Showmax said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are constantly adding new, exciting events to our catalogue and will keep you updated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>An archived version of the FAQ revealed that Showmax Pro will be priced as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Showmax Pro \u2013\u00a0<strong>R449 per month<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Showmax Pro Mobile \u2013\u00a0<strong>R225 per month<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Showmax Pro and Showmax Pro Mobile<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The new Showmax Pro
