Confusion surrounding the Hawks investigation into Dina Pule has been cleared up, according to the Democratic Alliance (DA).<\/p>\n
The DA says it has received written confirmation from the director of the South Africa’s Police special investigation unit, \u00a0the Hawks that that it is indeed investigating allegations of corruption against the former Communications Minister, Dina Pule.<\/p>\n
This follows claims by DA shadow minister of communications, Marian Shinn, that there were contradicting statements coming from the Hawks regarding who was on the case.<\/p>\n
In May, the DA gave an affidavit to SAPS requesting that it investigate the possible criminal activities of Pule, and her boyfriend Mr Phosane Mngqibisa.<\/p>\n
“The DA trusts that the investigation will proceed with energy, without interference and with full cooperation from those involved,” Shinn said.<\/p>\n
President Jacob Zuma axed Pule earlier this month (9 July) as part of yet another Cabinet reshuffle.<\/p>\n
Pule was replaced by former co-operative government and traditional affairs deputy minister Yunus Carrim.<\/p>\n
