{"id":4323,"date":"2012-01-24T12:04:18","date_gmt":"2012-01-24T12:04:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=4323"},"modified":"2012-01-24T12:06:21","modified_gmt":"2012-01-24T12:06:21","slug":"icasa-strike-resolved","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/government\/4323\/icasa-strike-resolved\/","title":{"rendered":"ICASA strike resolved"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Company Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/226385-ICASA\" target=\"_blank\">The Independent Communication Authority of South Africa<\/a> (ICASA) and the Communication Workers Union (CWU) settled their wage dispute on 23 January 2012, <a title=\"Person Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/227972-Stephen-Mncube\" target=\"_blank\">Stephen Mncube<\/a>, chairman of ICASA confirmed today (21 January 2012).<\/p>\n<p>According to media reports, unionised ICASA staff rejected an offer of a 5% increase.<\/p>\n<p>ICASA then offered an additional 3% granted on a sliding scale, which translated to an effective 8% increase to employees at the bottom end of the salary scale.
