{"id":433170,"date":"2020-09-14T08:04:24","date_gmt":"2020-09-14T06:04:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=433170"},"modified":"2020-09-14T08:04:24","modified_gmt":"2020-09-14T06:04:24","slug":"netflix-launches-r39-a-month-mobile-plan-in-south-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/media\/433170\/netflix-launches-r39-a-month-mobile-plan-in-south-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"Netflix launches R39 a month mobile plan in South Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Streaming company Netflix has launched two new subscription plans in South Africa that are aimed specifically at mobile devices.<\/p>\n<p>The Mobile and Mobile+ plans are priced at R39 and R59 per month respectively, with the more expensive plan also allowing users to watch shows on their laptops.<\/p>\n<p>The Netflix Mobile plan offers one simultaneous stream and supports smartphones and tablets, and allows users to stream at a resolution of up to 480p.<\/p>\n<p>Netflix Mobile+ also supports up to 480p for streaming and allows users to watch on their laptop or desktop computer as well as mobile phones and tablets.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.netflix.com\/signup\/planform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MyBroadband<\/a> <\/strong>reports that Netflix still seems to be rolling out these packages locally, and visitors to Netflix\u2019s signup page may be presented with either option.<\/p>\n<p><a  data-lightbox=\"post-image\" href=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Mobile.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-433174 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Mobile.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"981\" height=\"766\" srcset=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Mobile.png 981w, https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Mobile-300x234.png 300w, https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Mobile-768x600.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 981px) 100vw, 981px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The new plans are much cheaper than Netflix\u2019s existing three packages \u2013 Basic, Standard, and Premium.
