{"id":43791,"date":"2013-08-18T00:08:48","date_gmt":"2013-08-17T22:08:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=43791"},"modified":"2013-08-19T09:35:02","modified_gmt":"2013-08-19T07:35:02","slug":"trend-micro-to-up-investment-into-sa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/it-services\/43791\/trend-micro-to-up-investment-into-sa\/","title":{"rendered":"Trend Micro to up investment into SA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Global security software firm <a title=\"Trend Micro\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/9748-Trend-Micro\">Trend Micro<\/a> has announced plans to further its investment and presence in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>The Japanese firm says it will grow its staff content within its South African operation and will use the region as a base to extend operations into West East and Central Africa (WECA) as well as manage the rest of Africa from South Africa.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Ihab Moawad\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/9749-Ihab-Moawad\">Ihab Moawad<\/a>, vice president for Mediterranean, Middle East and Africa at Trend Micro believes that\u00a0Trend Micro can organisationally grow its market share by more than double digits across the continent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe South African market has an incredibly high growth potential. In fact when we decided to take a closer look at the market and map its potential in 2012, we were astounded at how much more potential there is in the region than what we originally saw,&#8221; Moawad said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is against this backdrop that we have taken a strategic decision to grow our presence in the country throughout 2013 as well as further invest into growing the local channel.
