{"id":438009,"date":"2020-10-05T09:55:29","date_gmt":"2020-10-05T07:55:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=438009"},"modified":"2020-10-05T09:55:29","modified_gmt":"2020-10-05T07:55:29","slug":"this-website-shows-how-government-spent-money-on-tenders-during-south-africas-coronavirus-lockdown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/internet\/438009\/this-website-shows-how-government-spent-money-on-tenders-during-south-africas-coronavirus-lockdown\/","title":{"rendered":"This website shows how government spent money on tenders during South Africa&#8217;s coronavirus lockdown"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development and the National Treasury have launched a Covid-19 procurement spend <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/ocpo.treasury.gov.za\/COVID19\/Pages\/Reporting-Dashboard.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">dashboard<\/a> <\/strong>detailing government&#8217;s procurement spend during the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>The dashboard follows a directive issued by president Cyril Ramaphosa to organs of state in August 2020 for the submission of full information regarding Covid-19 procurement.<\/p>\n<p>The National Treasury has since issued further instruction to the organs of state compelling institutions to report on the Covid-19 spend using a standard predefined format which will allow more details and data to be shared with the members of the public.<\/p>\n<p>Treasury said that the dashboard\u00a0provides more details regarding the previously published reports.
