Vodacom<\/a> CEO Shameel Joosub<\/a>\u2019s advice to ambitious individuals who want to move up the corporate ladder is simple: If you are asked to do x – do x, y and z.<\/p>\n

Joosub had a meteoric rise at Vodacom, having joined in March 1994, and quickly moved up the ranks to take the position of Vodacom Service Provider Company MD in September 2000.<\/p>\n

He was appointed as Vodacom South Africa MD in April 2005, and served in this position until he took the reins at Vodafone Spain in April 2011.<\/p>\n

In September 2012 Joosub was appointed as the CEO of Vodacom Group at the age of 41.<\/p>\n

Speaking on an interview on CNBC Africa, Joosub said that his success is partly based on always doing more than what was expected of him.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you are asked to do x – do x, y and z. You really have to push. You have to make yourself heard and show people that you can do more,\u201d Joosub said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou have to build it in such a way that you cannot be ignored. If you are doing that you will gain success.\u201d<\/p>\n
