{"id":446542,"date":"2020-11-06T12:26:09","date_gmt":"2020-11-06T10:26:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=446542"},"modified":"2020-11-06T15:01:26","modified_gmt":"2020-11-06T13:01:26","slug":"showmax-launches-free-streaming-including-series-movies-and-sports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/internet\/446542\/showmax-launches-free-streaming-including-series-movies-and-sports\/","title":{"rendered":"Showmax launches free streaming &#8211; including series, movies and sports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Video on demand service Showmax has launched Showmax Free, an ad-supported streaming service that offers a selection of local and international series, movies and sports highlights for free.<\/p>\n<p>The service is offered via the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.showmax.com\/eng\/welcome-free\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Showmax site<\/a> or mobile app, and does not require sign-up or any details to be provided.<\/p>\n<p>It does not give viewers access to the full Showmax library, but lets users stream selected shows, with ads and has limited functionality.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike the Showmax 14-day free trial &#8211; which offers full functionality for the trial period before incurring subscription costs &#8211; the free service can be used indefinitely, Showmax said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Downloads aren\u2019t available but you can watch online anytime, on any screen.
