{"id":44725,"date":"2013-08-25T08:00:02","date_gmt":"2013-08-25T06:00:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=44725"},"modified":"2013-08-26T09:21:50","modified_gmt":"2013-08-26T07:21:50","slug":"mtn-mess-continues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/mobile\/44725\/mtn-mess-continues\/","title":{"rendered":"MTN mess continues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former <a title=\"MTN\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/1640-MTN-Group\">MTN<\/a> chief corporate services officer <a title=\"Robert Madzonga\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/7040-Robert-Madzonga\">Robert Madzonga<\/a> has filed legal papers against the cellular company over his suspension, arguing that he was suspended because of an internal grievance claim against senior manager Lily Zondo.<\/p>\n<p>The Sunday Times reported that MTN executive business risk manager Shauket Fakie \u201caccused Madzonga of being economical with the truth when he was previously investigated by PwC for a series of dodgy invoices\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The Sunday Times previously reported on that Madzonga authorised R12.3 million in questionable payments to a legal friend.<\/p>\n<p>Business Times reported that his suspension was also linked to his role in the diversion of sponsorship funds for the ICT indaba \u2013 the same incident which brought down former communications minister <a title=\"Dina Pule\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/2128-Dina-Pule\">Dina Pule<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Madzonga\u2019s suspension came less than a month after MTN announced that group chief financial officer and executive financial director, <a title=\"Nazir Patel\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/2280-Nazir-Patel\">Nazir Patel<\/a> had resigned amid controversy which includes an internal investigation.<\/p>\n<p>In the latest incident Eleanor Potter \u2013 GM for branded retail channel at MTN \u2013 has left the company.
