Alt-X listed telecoms and IT solutions provider,\u00a0FoneWorx<\/a>\u00a0has on Tuesday (27 August) announced a contract extension with Telkom, which the group believes will grow its current subscriber base.<\/p>\n

The service provider\u00a0agreement with Telkom, on which the FoneWorx premium rated Fax2email service offering is operated on the\u00a0back of, has been awarded a\u00a0further five year extension to its existing contract, commencing 1 September 2013 until 31 August 2018.<\/p>\n

“This will provide a further contractual platform to, not only grow the company\u00b4s base of over 300,000\u00a0subscribers, but also add additional value added features to the product,” FoneWorx said.<\/p>\n

In addition, the group said that SABC has selected it as one of the preferred bidders for the provision of the\u00a0procurement of wireless application service providers (WASPs) to partner in providing mobile value added\u00a0services (MVAS) for a period of three years from 1 September 2013.<\/p>\n

“This will enable FoneWorx to not only\u00a0continue to provide value added services to the SABC, which it has done successfully over the last 10 years\u00a0but to also increase its footprint,” it said.<\/p>\n

FoneWorx has been appointed a dealer by Telkom Mobile for three years as from 1 September to procure\u00a0customers for Mobile handsets, data cards, recharge vouchers, connection packs, mobile accessories and\u00a0value added services for Telkom Mobile.<\/p>\n

“This will add tremendous value to the company\u00b4s mobile handset\u00a0strategy,” it said.<\/p>\n
