{"id":449127,"date":"2020-11-17T10:16:43","date_gmt":"2020-11-17T08:16:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=449127"},"modified":"2020-11-17T10:16:43","modified_gmt":"2020-11-17T08:16:43","slug":"south-africa-fibre-company-reveals-r3-billion-expansion-plan-to-cover-300000-homes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/it-services\/449127\/south-africa-fibre-company-reveals-r3-billion-expansion-plan-to-cover-300000-homes\/","title":{"rendered":"South Africa fibre company reveals R3 billion expansion plan to cover 300,000 homes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>African Infrastructure Investment Managers (AIIM), an infrastructure-focused private equity fund manager, has acquired a minority equity stake in open access fibre network operator, MetroFibre Networx, through the newly incorporated Digital Infrastructure Investment Holdings platform.<\/p>\n<p>AIIM\u2019s R980 million investment forms part of a R1.5 billion equity funding round to support Metrofibre\u2019s capital expansion plan, which exceeds R3 billion over the coming three years and will further enhance the company\u2019s empowerment positioning, a joint statement said.<\/p>\n<p>Existing shareholder STOA, a foreign investment vehicle based in France, is providing incremental funding as part of the transaction together with new investment by the founders of the South African Housing &amp;
