Huawei<\/a>, the Chinese multinational networking and telecommunications equipment and services company,\u00a0has appointed Wilson Liu<\/a> as the new CEO for its South African operations.<\/p>\n

Liu will be responsible for the company\u2019s day-to-day business operations and ensuring that Huawei is meeting its commitment to deliver ICT products and solutions to customers and end-users in South Africa.<\/p>\n

He will also drive a market development strategy for South Africa\u2019s local market ecosystem, which will continue to expand the company’s three core business groups, namely: carrier networks, enterprise business products and solutions and consumer devices.<\/p>\n

\u201cSouth Africa\u2019s ICT industry is poised for strong growth so it is an exciting time to be in South Africa and I am thrilled with the opportunity to lead our business efforts here,” Liu said in a statement.<\/p>\n

“As the largest economy in the region, South Africa is an important, strategic market for Huawei because we believe that our growth in this market is intertwined with the overall sustainable development of a region that holds so much potential for ICT innovation and growth.”<\/p>\n

Liu joined Huawei in year 2000 and has held a number of senior management positions with the company, including CEO for both Huawei Oman and Huawei United Arab Emirates and serving as a Senior Technical Instructor at Huawei University in China.<\/p>\n
