Vodacom managing executive Enzo Scarcella has resigned from the mobile operator, and industry speculation is rife that he will be joining Telkom in an executive role.<\/p>\n
If the speculation is correct that Scarcella will indeed join Telkom, working under CEO Sipho Maseko will be familiar ground.<\/p>\n
Scarcella worked under Maseko – then Vodacom South Africa MD – for most of 2012, until Maseko left the mobile operator in August of that year.<\/p>\n
Scarcella joined Vodacom in 2008, and has been responsible for various initiatives in the company, including the successful Player 23 campaign.<\/p>\n
Before joining Vodacom, Scarcella served as a marketing executive at Edcon; marketing director at M-Net; and brand group manager at SABMiller.<\/p>\n
Scarcella told MyBroadband last week that he had not resigned from Vodacom yet, but hinted at the fact that he may leave the company to join Telkom.<\/p>\n
Vodacom could not immediately comment on the resignation of Scarcella.<\/p>\n
