Vodacom has confirmed that\u00a0Enzo Scarcella, managing executive for postpaid, has decided to leave the company “to reflect on his career”.<\/p>\n
“It is with regret that I announce that Enzo Scarcella…has decided to leave the business after an illustrious career with Vodacom,” said\u00a0Phil\u00a0Patel, chief officer for the Vodacom consumer business unit.<\/p>\n
Scarcella\u00a0joined Vodacom in 2007 as managing executive for marketing, on the back of stints at businesses such as SAB and EDCON.<\/p>\n
“Enzo will be taking a break to reflect on his career. We wish him all the best. I will assume the responsibilities in the Postpaid area until a suitable replacement is announced,”\u00a0Patel said.<\/p>\n
Industry speculation is rife that Scarcella is to join\u00a0Telkom in an executive role.<\/p>\n
Scarcella worked under Telkom\u00a0CEO Sipho Maseko\u00a0\u2013 then Vodacom South Africa MD \u2013 for most of 2012, until Maseko left the mobile operator in August of that year.<\/p>\n
