Head of FNB Connect<\/a>, Farren Roper<\/a> has stepped down from the bank, it was announced today.<\/p>\n

Roper, who had filled the role of Head of FNB Connect ISP and Business Operations since 2009, was leaving the position to pursue “a great opportunity in the telecoms space,” FNB said in a statement.<\/p>\n

According to FNB, there will be no new appointment to replace Roper’s role.<\/p>\n

“His role will be absorbed into the existing team at FNB Mobile and Connect, who continue to drive innovations at FNB Mobile and Connect,” the bank said.<\/p>\n

Roper joined FNB in May 2008 where his legal career opened a path for him at FNB Connect as Head of Legal Risk and Compliance, where he quickly became a telecommunications regulatory and governance specialist.<\/p>\n

Following the announcement, Roper issued the following farewell statement:<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring my tenure at FNB I have been a team member in some ground breaking innovations; been involved in successful start ups; had great mentorship and leadership to look up to; been trusted to manage a great team and had the benefit of interacting with talent all across the bank.<\/p>\n

I can attest that being an \u2018FNB-er\u2019 is truly the best springboard for any aspiring young leader\u201d.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
