Gijima<\/a> chairman Robert Gumede<\/a> says that the\u00a0appointment\u00a0of a permanent chief executive at the financially-troubled ICT firm is expected next week.<\/p>\n

On Monday, Gijima reported a R210.76 million loss for year ended June 2013, from a prior loss of R50.59 million in 2012.<\/p>\n

The group said that the loss of two\u00a0significant contracts that expired after several years of delivery in the previous financial year, a tough market and significant\u00a0top-line pressure on a major project, contributed to a challenging financial year.<\/p>\n

Revenue from continuing operations declined to R1.848 billion, from R2.22 billion, with an operating loss from continued operations at R335.6 million, from R72.1 million in 2012.<\/p>\n

Gijima has been without the services of a permanent CEO for just under a year, having\u00a0having appointed\u00a0Eileen Wilton<\/a>, who joined the group as\u00a0COO,\u00a0as interim chief in October 2012.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the presentation of the group’s results in Sandton Gumede said: “We have been\u00a0focused on addressing that\u00a0issue\u00a0(a new CEO). For us the priority of this appointment is a priority.”<\/p>\n

Gumede added\u00a0that the group would make \u201cfinalisation\u201d on the appointment by the latest Wednesday (9 October).<\/p>\n
