{"id":472726,"date":"2021-03-03T15:08:19","date_gmt":"2021-03-03T13:08:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=472726"},"modified":"2021-03-03T15:08:19","modified_gmt":"2021-03-03T13:08:19","slug":"here-is-a-list-of-services-available-at-home-affairs-under-south-africas-level-1-lockdown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/government\/472726\/here-is-a-list-of-services-available-at-home-affairs-under-south-africas-level-1-lockdown\/","title":{"rendered":"Here is a list of services available at Home Affairs under South Africa\u2019s level 1 lockdown"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The minister of Home Affairs Dr Aaron Motsoaledi has announced the resumption of a number of services under South Africa&#8217;s level 1 lockdown.<\/p>\n<p>This comes after several services were temporarily suspended in January 2021 due to concerns around Covid-19 transmissions.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s6\">&#8220;Following the president\u2019s announcement that the country has moved to Alert Level 1, <\/span><span class=\"s6\">we have decided\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s6\">that more services will be resumed tomorrow, Thursday, 4 March.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s6\">&#8220;The citizenship service remains temporarily unavailable,&#8221; he said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s7\"><span class=\"s6\">The following services were offered during Adjusted level 3 lockdown:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"s13\"><span class=\"s6\">Births registration;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"s13\"><span class=\"s6\">Re-issuance of births certificates;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"s13\"><span class=\"s6\">Late Registration of Birth (LRB) for learners and pensioners only;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"s13\"><span class=\"s6\">Death registration;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"s13\"><span class=\"s6\">Applications temporary identity certificate (TIC);<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"s13\"><span class=\"s6\">Collection of identity cards or documents;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"s13\"><span class=\"s6\">Applications and collection of passports for those who are exempted to travel;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"s13\"><span class=\"s6\">Applications for identity (Smart ID) cards or documents for matriculants only.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"s7\"><span class=\"s6\">In addition to th<\/span><span class=\"s6\">ose mentioned\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s6\">above,<\/span><span class=\"s6\"> Motsoaledi said that the following services will resume:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"s15\"><span class=\"s6\">Re-issues of Smart ID cards<\/span><span class=\"s6\"> and identity documents;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"s15\"><span class=\"s6\">Registration and solemnization of marriages;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"s15\"><span class=\"s6\">Amendments and rectifications;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"s15\"><span class=\"s6\">Late Registration of Birth (LRB) for all categories;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"s15\"><span class=\"s6\">Applications\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s6\">and collections of pa<\/span><span class=\"s6\">ssports<\/span><span class=\"s6\">\u00a0for<\/span><span class=\"s6\"> all categories.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The minister said that online services through eHome Affairs and partner banks will be resumed on Monday (8 March).<\/p>\n<p class=\"s7\"><span class=\"s6\">&#8220;I would like to remind South Africans that Covid-19 is still with us and we need to remain vigilant in our fight against its spread.
