The smartphone and tablet PC market is awash with great new devices like the iPhone 4S, Galaxy Nexus and various new Android<\/a> tablets.<\/p>\n

To find out which mobile device is the coolest is not easy – but looking at what the bigwigs in the mobile arena choose may help with this process.<\/p>\n

The CEOs of cellular operators can get their hands on any device they want, and if they are not happy with the phone, they can simply change it for another one \u2013 no questions asked.<\/p>\n

Here is what Vodacom<\/a>, MTN<\/a> and Cell C<\/a>\u2019s chiefs are using.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Karel Pienaar<\/p><\/div>\n

MTN CEO, Karel Pienaar<\/a><\/strong> makes sure he stays abreast with the latest Apple<\/a> and Android developments by using both an HTC<\/a> Sensation XL and an iPhone 4S.<\/p>\n

Pienaar\u2019s favourite apps include FlyCasts, Zinio, Golf Shot GPS, Living Earth, Sound Hound, Puniverse, Gainfitness, Sasol ebirds, World Atlas and WhatsApp.<\/p>\n

When it comes to PC versus Mac, Pienaar is still undecided. \u201cI use a MacBook Air for personal use and a Dell<\/a> PC for work. I still can’t fully decide,\u201d said Pienaar.<\/p>\n

\"Alan<\/a>

Alan Knott-Craig<\/p><\/div>\n

Alan Knott-Craig<\/strong>, who will take over as Cell C CEO on 1 April, currently uses an iPhone and an iPad. He also uses a Mac to complete his Apple ecosystem.<\/p>\n

Knott-Craig\u2019s favourite apps include News24, Zite, Google<\/a> app, Goodreads, pUniverse and Soundhound.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pieter Uys<\/p><\/div>\n

Vodacom CEO, Pieter Uys<\/a><\/strong> is currently using a Galaxy Note as both a tablet PC and a smartphone. Uys\u2019 favourative apps include the magazine platform Zinio and Twitter.<\/p>\n
