brings games to SA iTunes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Apple\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/1648-Apple\">Apple<\/a> is rolling out games for the South African iTunes App Store, a spokesperson for the company has told MyBroadband.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of writing it appeared as though the roll-out was still underway, with the iTunes desktop app displaying the following error when attempting to access the App Store: \u201cThe item you\u2019ve requested is not currently available in the South African Store.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, a tweet from a local game developer pointed to a listing for Angry Birds on the iTunes App Store for South Africa website.<\/p>\n<p>Using the website to find the listing of a game and then clicking \u201cView in iTunes\u201d opens the application\u2019s page in the iTunes desktop application.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Age classification of games in SA<\/h3>\n<p>This latest news on <a title=\"iOS\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/4613-iOS-%28Operating-System%29\">iOS<\/a> games for South Africa emerges some months after the Film and Publications Board (<a title=\"FPB\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/8295-Film-and-Publications-Board\">FPB<\/a>) said that it had proposed new regulations on online content distribution to the Department of Home Affairs.<\/p>\n<p>The FPB indicated in May 2013 that these new regulations would have paved the way for Apple to launch the \u201cgames\u201d category for the iTunes App Store in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Requests for comment to the Film and Publications board earlier in October 2013 on the status of iOS games in South Africa were unanswered.<\/p>\n<p>Apple declined to comment on what
