{"id":480109,"date":"2021-04-04T07:00:42","date_gmt":"2021-04-04T05:00:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=480109"},"modified":"2021-04-01T17:05:03","modified_gmt":"2021-04-01T15:05:03","slug":"8-new-jobs-that-south-africans-could-use-to-get-into-the-uk-from-april","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/lifestyle\/480109\/8-new-jobs-that-south-africans-could-use-to-get-into-the-uk-from-april\/","title":{"rendered":"8 new jobs that South Africans can use to get into the UK from April"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Home Office has announced several changes to the UK Immigration rules that will take place in 2021, says Breytenbachs Immigration Consultants.<\/p>\n<p>Workers from overseas, especially those in key health and care roles, will benefit from positions added to the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/review-of-the-shortage-occupation-list-2020\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shortage Occupation List (SOL)<\/a><\/strong>, the group said.<\/p>\n<p>When a job occupation is on the SOL, persons in these roles will find it easier to qualify for a skilled worker visa.<\/p>\n<p>From April 2021, Breytenbachs said that the UK Government will include the following occupations in the UK list:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pharmacists;<\/li>\n<li>Laboratory technicians;<\/li>\n<li>Senior care workers;<\/li>\n<li>Physiotherapists;<\/li>\n<li>Nursing auxiliaries and assistants;<\/li>\n<li>Health services and public health managers and directors;<\/li>\n<li>Residential, day and domiciliary care managers;<\/li>\n<li>Modern foreign language teachers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other visa changes\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Breytenbachs said that overseas students in the UK are also set to benefit from the new graduate visa which will open on 1 July 2021.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It will allow students to stay in the UK for two years upon completing their studies. Students with a doctorate will be allowed to stay for three years,&#8221; it said.<\/p>\n<p>The global talent visa will also see some immigration rule changes, Breytenbachs said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It will now be possible to bypass the endorsement criteria if you have received a prestigious prize.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Prestigious prizes might include prizes such as a Nobel prize, Grammy, Golden Globe etc. Persons with such a distinction will subsequently be able to apply directly for this visa.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Further changes ahead\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the UK Budget, the chancellor set out some changes they want to implement in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>While no further details are available yet, Breytenbachs said that it expects the following changes to be made:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2022 will see the introduction of an elite points-based visa;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The UK Government will reform the Global Talent visa by allowing holders of international prizes and scholarships to qualify automatically;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Review of the Innovator visa to make it easier for persons with the right skills to obtain a permit;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The Government also hope to introduce a Global Mobility visa in the Spring of 2022.
