We are the first retailer\u00a0in South Africa to offer 1 hour delivery time slots for groceries,&#8221; the group said.<\/p>\n<p>Pick &#8216;n Pay said it was making\u00a01,500 deliveries per week through its online facility &#8211; up 28% on last year &#8211; with registered customers up 16%\u00a0since March.<\/p>\n<p>The group offers a list of the areas to which it delivers on its website. The delivery cost is determined by address and time slot and starts at R60.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, the group said that total till sales\u00a0were up 8.1% to R35.0 billion, while turnover of R30.1 billion was 7.5% better than R28.0 billion recorded in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are serving more customers than ever before, increasing our customer count by 3.3% during the period,\u00a0while processing 380 million transactions through our tills,&#8221;\u00a0Pick &#8216;n Pay said.<\/p>\n<p>Trading profit improved 34.8% to R317.5 million, with a dividend per share of 14.80 cents declared, up a fraction from 14.75 cents in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>The group pointed out that its 2014 interim financial\u00a0period consists of 26 weeks, which is two trading days fewer than the comparative period last year.
