{"id":48195,"date":"2013-10-24T09:07:07","date_gmt":"2013-10-24T07:07:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=48195"},"modified":"2013-10-24T09:09:20","modified_gmt":"2013-10-24T07:09:20","slug":"canon-cuts-outlook-as-camera-market-drags","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/hardware\/48195\/canon-cuts-outlook-as-camera-market-drags\/","title":{"rendered":"Canon cuts outlook as camera market drags"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Japan&#8217;s Canon Corp cut its operating profit outlook for a second quarter in a row as a slump in the market for high-end cameras dragged on with a sharper-than-expected slowdown in emerging markets.<\/p>\n<p>The world&#8217;s largest camera maker said it now expects to sell 8 million interchangeable-lens cameras in the year to end-December, down from the previous quarter&#8217;s forecast of 9 million and below last year&#8217;s total of 8.2 million.<\/p>\n<p>It lowered its full-year operating profit forecast to 360 billion yen ($3.70 billion) from previous guidance of 380 billion yen.
