{"id":482893,"date":"2021-04-13T17:55:49","date_gmt":"2021-04-13T15:55:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=482893"},"modified":"2021-04-13T17:55:49","modified_gmt":"2021-04-13T15:55:49","slug":"eskom-announces-stage-2-load-shedding-on-tuesday-night","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/trending\/482893\/eskom-announces-stage-2-load-shedding-on-tuesday-night\/","title":{"rendered":"Eskom announces stage 2 load shedding on Tuesday night"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Power utility Eskom has announced that it will implement stage 2 load shedding on Tuesday night (13 April), starting at 21h00.<\/p>\n<p>Load shedding will continue overnight, until 05h00 on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The load shedding is being implemented due a shortage of generating capacity as a result of a delayed return to service of three generating units.<\/p>\n<p>Another three units tripped during the day, reducing capacity, it said. The load shedding is also necessary to manage and preserve emergency reserves.<\/p>\n<p>A generating unit each at the Tutuka and Kendal power stations tripped, while a single unit at Komati was forced down. The units at Kriel, Medupi and Duvha have been delayed.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Eskom is working hard to return these units to service as soon as possible.
