{"id":483617,"date":"2021-04-16T08:23:33","date_gmt":"2021-04-16T06:23:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=483617"},"modified":"2021-04-16T08:48:56","modified_gmt":"2021-04-16T06:48:56","slug":"south-africa-opens-covid-19-vaccine-registrations-for-phase-2-rollout-how-to-apply","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/government\/483617\/south-africa-opens-covid-19-vaccine-registrations-for-phase-2-rollout-how-to-apply\/","title":{"rendered":"South Africa opens Covid-19 vaccine registrations for phase 2 rollout &#8211; how to apply"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Health minister Dr Zweli Mkhize has announced that online registrations for phase 2 of the country&#8217;s Covid-19 vaccine rollout will officially open at 16h00 on Friday (16 April).<\/p>\n<p>In a media briefing on Friday morning, the Health minister said that qualifying workers will be able to sign up for the vaccine through the government&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/vaccine.enroll.health.gov.za\/#\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>electronic vaccination data system<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(EVDS).<\/p>\n<p>Mkhize said that phase 2 of the country&#8217;s rollout will initially focus on people who are over 60 years of age.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the vaccine rollout will open to younger age groups as more South Africans are vaccinated.<\/p>\n<p>Those who qualify will be sent a notification through SMS informing them of the time and place that the vaccine will be available. It will also come with a unique code that patients will be required to show to their vaccinator.<\/p>\n<p>Patients are also expected to provide their ID and a contact number when at the vaccination site.
