{"id":486291,"date":"2021-04-28T09:01:42","date_gmt":"2021-04-28T07:01:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=486291"},"modified":"2021-04-28T13:24:23","modified_gmt":"2021-04-28T11:24:23","slug":"travel-agents-send-warning-about-mango-flight-bookings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/business\/486291\/travel-agents-send-warning-about-mango-flight-bookings\/","title":{"rendered":"Mango flight booking warning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>State-owned domestic airline Mango is facing financial uncertainty, raising questions about how much longer it can stay in the air.<\/p>\n<p>While the airline is yet to make any official announcements, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/businesslive.co.za\/bd\/national\/2021-04-25-mango-staff-may-not-get-their-salaries-in-may\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BusinessDay<\/a><\/strong> reported that a delay in government funding means that the airline is set to stop operating from 1 May, and enter into business rescue.<\/p>\n<p>Travel agencies have now begun advising customers about the potential grounding, warning that flights might not continue next week as scheduled.<\/p>\n<p>Travelstart said that all Mango flights departing from now until 30 April will continue to operate as scheduled. However, it indicated that there was uncertainty about flights after this date.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Please have your Mango reference number (check your E-ticket under airline reference) and passenger date of birth at hand when checking on the website,&#8221; it said in a notice on its <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/business\/485829\/mango-faces-grounding-from-this-week-as-its-hit-by-financial-crunch-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Additionally, please also be on the lookout for SMS updates regarding any schedule changes. For flights departing after 30 April we ask that you please be patient and keep an eye on your inbox.
